Sponsorship of Ocean Conservation Commitments (OCCs) contributes not only to safe guarding, monitoring and protection of Niue’s marine protected area, it has a more holistic approach in supporting other key elements that drive and make the Niue people who they are, their identity through maintenance of traditional knowledge and all sustainable practices and activities around the ocean and on land. OCC sponsorship also has global benefits in helping to battle the issues of climate change and to also build a brighter future not only for Niue but also for the region and world.
